Guides

From zero to your first voucher sold.

A step-by-step setup guide, the shortcodes you need, and tips to sell more vouchers. Video tutorials are on the way.

Getting started

Set up Vouchiva in six steps

  1. 1

    Install & activate

Download the plugin from your Freemius account (or the free version), then go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin, upload the .zip and activate it. Vouchiva creates its pages (shop, checkout, confirmation, staff area) automatically.

  2. 2

    Configure the basics

Open Vouchiva → Settings: currency, sender name and email, default voucher validity, plugin language and — if you need it — VAT on receipts.

  3. 3

    Connect your payments

In the Stripe, PayPal, Satispay and Bank Transfer tabs, paste your own API keys or your IBAN, then enable the gateways you want under Active Gateways. Test mode first, live when you are ready.

  4. 4

    Add properties & terms

Create your Structures (hotel, spa, restaurant…) and your Voucher Policy (terms of use). They will be printed on every voucher.

  5. 5

    Create your first voucher

Under Products, choose Amount or Experience, add photos, description, price or amounts, validity and where it can be used. For experiences, enable participants or duration-based pricing.

  6. 6

    Invite your staff

Under Employees, add each team member: they receive a one-time code to register and then log in to the staff area to redeem vouchers from their phone.

Tips from the front desk

Plan around the gifting calendar

Christmas, Valentine’s Day, Mother’s and Father’s Day drive most voucher sales. Launch dedicated experiences a few weeks before each one.

Sell experiences, not just amounts

“Spa day for two” is easier to give than “€150”. Use great photos and a clear description of what is included.

Link it everywhere

Add the voucher shop to your menu, booking confirmation emails, newsletter and social profiles. Guests who loved their stay are your best buyers.
